Maria Downey is a senior at the University of Maryland-College Park where she is majoring in Government & Politics International Relations, Economics, and French, as well as minoring in International Development and Conflict Management. Maria has also studied Peace & Conflict through the Fred Cuny Summer Program located in Pristina, Kosovo. She has also interned remotely for a government consulting firm based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is currently continuing her advocacy efforts as a Government Affairs Intern for Razom for Ukraine. As a first generation Ukrainian, she is looking to apply her experience in advocacy and conflict resolution to aiding Ukraine in its ongoing efforts to defend itself in its war against Russia.
