Catherine Binet (Peruvian Forensic Anthropology Team – EPAF): Before going to university, Catherine interned at EDUCA, a Mexican NGO that promotes community development in the department of Oaxaca. Catherine completed her undergraduate studies in International Development and Hispanic Languages at McGill University, where she graduated with first class honours. At the time of her fellowship, she was studying for a Masters degree in International Development and Global Studies at the University of Ottawa. The Human Rights Internet in Ottawa supported Catherine’s fellowship.
Today, armed with my faithful camera, I set out to capture the essence of the contentious battle between Keiko Fujimori and Ollanta Humala, to be decided tomorrow in the second round of Peru’s presidential election. This is what I found:

Wow! Those are really powerful images, Catherine! I ran into an anti-Keiko campaign at the municipal plaza a couple weeks ago and there were some really funny comics of Keiko too! =) I mean, I know they’re supposed to be insulting, but I found them so hilarious! =)
My favorite one said: “Como no estaba de acuerdo con Montesinos, recibía la platita que él me enviaba. Como no estuve de acerdo con la renuncia por fax, ayudé a elaborar y repartir la carta. Ahora, como no estoy de acuerdo con la corrupción, adivinen qué haré en mi gobierno.” =P
