The previous week at the AIC encompassed six intensive days of learning for a group of 19 Germans in Palestine and Israel. The AIC’s description of the camp reads: “The goal of this one-week field seminar is to provide participants with a deep understanding of the Palestinian and Israeli context and societies, thus enabling more powerful advocacy on behalf of a just peace in the region.”
Held three to five times a year, the AIC emphasizes that, “the political camp is not a week of tourism.” Instead, the AIC packs the camp schedule with political substance not leaving much if any time for traditional sightseeing or shopping. AIC is a unique vehicle embodying joint Palestinian-Israeli collaboration working towards Palestinian equality. This perspective provides camp participants with an underrepresented insight into the conflict and its future.
