Grace McGuire. Grace is a rising senior at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland. At Whitman, Grace is a member of the student government and has raised funds and awareness for several charities including Children’s National and the National Suicide Hotline. Grace is the co-President of the Whitman Chapter of Girl Up, a charity that creates advocacy and awareness for adolescent girls in places where it is hardest to be a girl. Last summer, Grace participated in Girls Who Code summer immersion program. Grace is very interested in social justice and the rights of adolescent girls. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Grace has been making face masks and selling them to raise funds for Kakenya’s Dream.
