November 26, 2008, Beit Sahour, Occupied Palestinian Territories: In recognition of the United Nations International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, two noted Palestinian activists will speak Saturday on the united struggle for justice and peace in the region.
Nassar Ibrahim, co-director of the Alternative Information Center (AIC), sociologist and writer, will discuss the general political context of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the significance of this important day.
Rifat Kassis, is currently the special advisor for the World Council of Churches General Secretary on the Middle East and has long been active in the Palestinian struggle both in Palestine and abroad. Mr Kassis will speak on Palestinian advocacy efforts around the world and the response of international solidarity groups to these efforts.
The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the AICafe, located in Beit Sahour. The AIC, a partner of The Advocacy Project, is a joint Palestinian-Israeli activist organization engaged in dissemination of information, political advocacy and grassroots activism.
