On The Record for Refugees (1998)In October 1998, the AP team re-assembled in Geneva to produce a second online series of our newsletter On The Record. The request came from the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), a network of NGOs that work on humanitarian issues. ICVA works closely with the office of the UN High Commissioner for refugees (UNHCR) and asked AP to cover the 1998 session of the UNHCR Executive Committee. This important, but under-reported annual meeting reviews the protection of refugees worldwide. The 1998 session took place against the gathering crisis in Kosovo. |
