A MOU or Memorandum of Understanding is the contract that binds partners and defines roles, responsibilities, and what happens if you don’t fulfill said roles and responsibilities. In order to formalize GDPU and Advocacy Project’s pilot bus park toilet partnership with local government and give GDPU a strong platform for effective monitoring, we needed to sign a MOU with local council. This week after a back and forth between GDPU and the local government the MOU was signed by both GDPU and Local Council. Getting to this point has not been easy from dealing with bureaucracy to understanding tender concerns. It only seems fitting that we get the news of the signed MOU on October 15th Global Handwashing Day. With this news there has been a rejuvenation of the staff surrounding this project, which is now full steam ahead.
