Each year, the International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA) holds a Global Week of Action Against Gun Violence. This year, the Week of Action took place during the week of June 15th, with activities and events being held across the world. In addition to launching the Disarming Domestic Violence campaign at the Canadian Conference on the Prevention of Domestic Homicide in London, Ontario, last Friday Project Ploughshares joined with Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis and the Centre for Research and Education on Violence Against Women and Children for a public screening of the documentary Devil’s Bargain: A Journey into the Small Arms Trade. This very powerful documentary examines the international trade in small arms and the global effort to stop it as part of the Week of Action.
