Effigies Burnt at Political Demonstrations in Nepal

Katmandu, 18 September 2005-
Collective agitation of alliance of seven political parities continued today at many places of Katmandu. Political parties decided to organize corner meeting and burn effigy respectively.

Nepal Peasants Party Dudhpati, Bhaktapur      Effigy burn and corner meeting

Hundreds of political activists demonstrated, chanted slogans, organized meetings and burned effigies symbolizing the present government. Large numbers of police was mobilized to suppress the demonstration, though protestors burned the effigies. There were no arrests.
