A Voice For the Voiceless

The Advocacy Project helps marginalized communities to tell their story, claim their rights and produce social change.

We are currently recruiting graduate students to volunteer as Peace Fellows with partners.

The Impact of Service

"I look at myself as having the potential to be as strong and caring as the amazing women I met in Kenya."

Kate Cummings (Tufts University) volunteered in 2009 as a Peace Fellow for Vital Voices in Africa.

TIP Report

Each year since 2000, the US government has released a Trafficking in Persons (TIP) report to outline the efforts of governments worldwide to stop human trafficking. The report puts countries into three categories, Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 with Tier 3 representing countries that are not doing enough to fight trafficking. These yearly TIP reports are very controversial and in 2006, TAMPEP and WOCON both responded.

The Advocacy Project (AP) seeks to empower its partners by encouraging information production. AP is crediting the contents of this section to the Women's Consortium of Nigeria (WOCON).
