Strategic Partners
By working through others, AP is able to reach many beneficiaries, scale up services, produce more sustained outcomes and promote our model. As a result, we are seeking to build strategic partnerships with others who share our commitment to supporting community-based social justice. During 2007, we worked with the following:
- The Center for Balkan Development: Co-sponsored petitions with AP in 2005 and 2007 seeking the arrest of the Srebrenica killers and is currently sponsoring an outreach event in Boston that will feature the Srebrenica memorial quilt.
- Churches Against Sex Trafficking in Europe (CHASTE): Works against trafficking in Europe, sponsored a Fellow in 2007.
- The Clinton Global Initiative: Encourages innovative philanthropy.
- Creative Learning: Introduced AP to the Peruvian forensic team, Equipo Peruano de Antropología Forense, works with several other Latin American groups that could use AP’s model.
- The Friedrich Ebert Foundation (Jerusalem): Has a presence in Israel, Palestine and the United States, sponsored a research paper from AP in 2006 on human rights in the OPT.
- The Global Fund for Children: Has supported the Oruj Learning Center (Afghanistan), on advice from AP.
- The Global Fund for Human Rights: Supports community-based human rights groups, has recommended several partners in Africa to AP.
- The Global Fund for Women: Provides small grants for women, supported the Srebrenica survivors, on advice from AP.
- The Institute for the Study of International Migration, Georgetown University (ISIM): Specializes in trafficking and migration, has asked AP to conduct research on the diaspora.
- International Center on Nonviolent Conflict (ICNC): Signed an agreement with AP to provide practical support to advocates on the front line.
- The Landmine Survivors Network: Seeks to build an international network of survivor organizations (The Survivor Corps).
- The Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC): Empowers communities, sponsored two AP fellowships in 2007.
- The International Action Network on Small Arms (IANSA), women’s program: Advocates against gun violence.
