BOSFAM – Bosnia

BOSFAM, the Bosnian women’s group, is continuing its work on the Srebrenica Memorial Quilt to commemorate the more than 8,000 men and boys who were killed during the 1995 Srebrenica massacre.
The quilt comprises individual panels, each dedicated to a single victim. The BOSFAM weavers have woven four separate quilts, each comprising 20 or more panels. These are being exhibited around the United States and used by the Bosnian diaspora as a tool for advocacy.
BOSFAM considers the quilt to be “owned” by all Bosnians who were affected by the Srebrenica massacre. It is intended as a living memorial to all who were murdered in the July 1995 massacre – and a reminder that the massacre can never be forgotten.
