Dženo was created in 1994 in response to the mass wave of Romany immigration out of the Czech Republic to Western Europe and Canada and the discrimination which this population continues to face throughout the continent.
The organization serves as a center for increasing awareness of Romany issues and the hardships faced by the traveling population, such as a lack of access to education and education, or a reliable source of electricity. Dženo plays an important role in the dissemination of independent Roma media and information, and the eventual improvement of living conditions as a result of increased awareness.
