Cemujer is an internationally and nationally recognized feminist organization that contributes to the strengthening of the human rights of women, children, and adolescents though the insitution of effective programs, the defense and promotion of the public, the prevention of gender violence, training and empowerment.
Its values include: feminism, autonomy, political independence, respect of political opinions, religions and sexualities.

Cemujer was founded in 1990 as a response to the discrimination of women and other human rights violations that were based on gender. It has also formed a collaboration of government agencies and the media, known as the First Association of Women, in order to promote tolerance and respect for women's rights.

- Cemujer produces a variety of reports for international and national organization on the status of women.
- It provides rights-based education, health clinics, domestic violence hotlines, and legal council to victims of domestic violence.
- The organization provides workshops in Gender, Law and Human Rights for officials from Family Court, Justices of the Peace, the Attorney Generals office and NGOs.
- Cemujer produces radio and television programs to promote its message of gender equity.
